ABOUT US
yoga for EVERY body
Paying homage to her home of South Haven, Michigan, Sunset Coast Yoga was started in 2026 by Taylor Joachim.
Taylor became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance following her completion of the 200-Hour Teacher Training program with YogaRenew in September 2025. Since then, she has taught in multiple places around West Michigan, including community events, private classes, studios, beaches, schools, and virtual settings.
Taylor’s love for yoga began as a supplement to her volleyball training in high school, and has sustained her throughout life ever since. Over the 15+ years of her yoga practice, Taylor has learned from a multitude of yoga teachers all over the country, weaving all of her favorite bits from each of them into her teaching style today.
No matter the audience, Taylor strives to ensure a safe and inclusive environment, where all students can connect their physical bodies with the present moment through movement and breathwork.
Taylor is a proud member of Yoga Alliance, and teaches at studios around the Southwest Michigan area including the Church of the Epiphany in South Haven, and Yoga Life in Saint Joseph. When she’s not teaching yoga, Taylor is a Creative Producer, Photographer, and Artist. She serves on the Board of Directors at the South Haven Center for the Arts, and strives to make art, creativity, and movement accessible to all. To see more of her work, check out her website.

In our signature Sunset Coast Yoga class, you can expect to strengthen, stretch, and de-stress together in a vinyasa-style class designed to encourage self-discovery, a growth mindset, and improved mobility.
Taylor begins each class with intentional breathwork, linking breath with movement as the foundation for class. While each 60-minute session follows the same approachable overarching structure, there is something different each class, keeping your yoga practice fresh and ever-evolving. Wherever needed, Taylor is known for tailoring each sequence to the abilities in the room. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi, or totally new to yoga altogether, you’ll find yourself in a moving meditation in Taylor’s class.
For classes at other studios outside of South Haven, such as Yoga Life, please check the class description. Taylor teaches a Vinyasa class and Slow Flow class at Yoga Life.
